‘Saudade’ is a well-known Portuguese word which translates into a deep yearning and reflection over something that once was; events, people, places. A recollection of emotions floating without any resolve or a constant state of wistfulness. It is a recurring theme in Portuguese literature and music that has inspired many around the world. I illustrated this in a brighter palette borrowing hues from dusk on the shores.
