স্রোত / Stroth or Flow
I have read that the story of Bengal is found in its rivers. Historically known as the ‘Land of maritime valour’, its waters have indirectly shaped the 'Bengal identity'. Along the banks, trade flourished and ideas were exchanged much before they were officially recorded. Several foreign settlements started pouring in from the ports; French, Dutch, Portuguese, Armenian and started spreading their influence across the land much before The British East India Company seized control. Fragments of this cultural exchange can be found across Bengal in its structures and monuments.
স্রোত literally means the ‘current’ or ‘flow’ of a river or stream and sometimes, the flow of time. As a bit of a tribute I wanted to paint a surreal illustration around a common frame that we have seen and can relate to.
